HOMENAJE A ANTONIO SOLER

Homenaje a Antonio Soler, dedicated to pianist Javier Negrín, is built from musical material belonging to two sonatas by Antonio Soler: no. 10 in B minor, fast and virtuosic, and no. 24 in D minor, slow and cantabile. Through the use of genetic algorithms, the original material is manipulated and transformed, generating new musical material with which piece is composed.  In a certain sense, the final work is a descendant, a crossroads, of Soler’s two sonatas.  This Metaludio was commissioned by the Spanish Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical (CDNM).
